Trip to Floyd, Virginia
Just letting everyone know (since not all do Facebook), we are working on a Ride to Floyd Virginia for next
year. Dates are Wednesday, June 17, 2026, to Monday, June 22, 2026.
We will be staying overnight on the way to and from, in Harrisonburg Virginia at the Sleep Inn & Suites Harrisonburg near the University (off route 33). The one-day layover is due to, we will be using Skyline Drive and The Blue Ridge Parkway to get to Floyd, and the speed limit is 25 – 35 mph. on Skyline Drive and at the most 45 mph on the Parkway. It will also give us some time to take in some of the scenery.
I have 20 rooms blocked at Hotel Floyd and the Sleep Inn & Suites in Harrisonburg. You will need a Park Pass to get on Skyline Drive.
Floyd is a laid back Bluegrass/Country Music town. We will be living on Floyd Time while we are there. Thursday nights they clear out the Country Store for Honky Tonk, Friday nights they do the same for the Jamboree and Saturday evenings is a live radio broadcast. Next door at the Dogtown Roadhouse they also offer live music of many styles. During the day folks just walk in with their instruments and start playing down at the park. (Google search Floyd Virginia. While you’re there check out Floyd Fest). We won’t just be waiting around for the evening entertainment, we will also be visiting other places and riding some back country roads.
Some of the destinations I am looking at are: Mabry Mill, Blue Ridge Music Center, Mt. Airy N.C. (Mayberry), Pilot
Mountain, and Chateau Morrisette Winery….. and maybe just do a little riding. Then, coming back and relaxing on Floyd Time. Check your calendars and save the dates if you are interested. Make your reservations using the information below.

Room Rates: $499.97 for three nights. (Thursday-$139.99, Friday & Saturday-$179.99 per night). When calling in your reservation or at check in, let them know if you have AAA, AARP, Military or Senior Citizen for a 10% discount). This is not a chain hotel, so the prices were a little higher. Cut off date for room reservations for both hotels is April 15, 2026.
